01 / A LITTLE HELPWater only the planted area in your estimate
One millimetre over one square metre equals one litre. The estimator applies your weekly crop-water allowance to the selected beds, subtracts your useful-rainfall assumption and allows for irrigation efficiency. The 25 mm starting value is an editable budget example, not a crop prescription.
02 / A LITTLE HELPRain helps, but field conditions decide
Useful rainfall is the part the crop can use. Soil moisture, runoff, crop stage and weather affect additional watering. The team checks actual conditions and logs the water supplied. No weather feed or remote irrigation hardware is connected, and forecast rain never creates a charge.
03 / A LITTLE HELPUnderstand the water and labour rates
Water currently uses the same provisional uMgungundlovu reference as the chicken pages: R123.51 per kL including a VAT allowance. Confirm the actual source invoice before charging. Labour is R11.50 per 10-minute block including VAT. Shared continuous work is rounded once and its cost divided between plots.
04 / A LITTLE HELPKeep control of extra work
Ask to approve every extra job, or agree a total routine-care cap for the growing cycle. The cap covers authorised routine weeding, watering, crop checks and irrigation water. Machinery and new supplies need separate approval. A cap is not prepaid credit; invoices follow the actual completed work and are payable within seven days.
